for the organization of effective management of the economic sector. In this regаrd, there is a need for the development of effective management tools for the development of the tourism sector. With the help of monitoring, it is possible to track the dynamics of tourism development trends, make timely changes and improve the efficiency of tourism management. In science, the monitoring algorithm in tourism is poorly understood, which determines the research topic. The article presents an algorithm for monitoring tourism and hospitality. The

The article presents the author's formulation of the term “monitoring of the tourism sector”. The analysis of the existing assessment system of tourist activity in the Russian Federation is carried out. According to the presented algorithm, the article reflected the results of monitoring the tourism and hospitality sector in 2018 in the Primorsky Territory.
